Unfinished Business: The progress in policies to end violence against children
Each year, one billion children suffer from violence, losing their innocence and bearing lifelong scars. Despite government promises to end this violence, progress is inconsistent, with some areas regressing. A new report highlights the current state of policy commitments in 21 countries, revealing that no country has done enough to end violence against children by 2030. While some countries have outlawed violence, enforcement is lacking, and loopholes remain. West Africa, in particular, shows minimal progress and high rates of child marriage and labor.

Gender equality promoted by teenage boys in refugee settlements.
World Vision is engaging teenage refugee boys in Uganda’s northern district of Adjumani to promote gender equality through Male Action Groups (MAGs). These groups in Maaji and Mungula refugee settlements consist of 15 young boys each. The refugee community values boys more than they do girls and this is the major challenge they seek to address.

Hope Within Drought Crisis
The streams are completely dry. Each drop of water is treasured more than gold. Barns still stand firmly within villages, but offer emptiness. It is almost impossible to find a maize grain dropped anywhere around the homesteads, even with a chicken’s scratch and pecking. Children in villages are known to spend their time playing after school, instead they mostly linger around adults’ meeting places calmly but curiously.

Shoots of Hope for a Greener Future: Taking Stock of World Vision’s Environmental Sustainability and Climate Action Roadmap
Responding to children’s urgent call for climate justice, World Vision has developed the first organisation-wide Environmental Sustainability and Climate Action (ESCA) Strategic Roadmap. World Vision completed the first stocktake of ESCA -related programmes implemented during financial years 2023-24 across 69 countries.

Cholera outbreak response: World Vision ramps up WASH efforts in Malakal, Upper Nile State
Over the past eight weeks, following the declaration of a Cholera outbreak in Malakal County in South Sudan's Northeastern region, Upper Nile State, World Vision has been doubling efforts to ramp up water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) efforts to curb the spread of the disease.

Bringing safe water to the doorsteps of community members
Over the past years, the Builsa South Area Programme has collaborated with the Ghana Integrated Water, Sanitation and Health Program (GI-WASH) and various decentralised departments to provide safe water to needy communities, schools and healthcare facilities.
Through the efforts of the Area Programme, a household water connection pilot scheme was instituted, where households were supported to pipe water from a mechanized system to the premises of selected households.
