The Driving Action for Wellbeing to Avert Mortality (DAWAM) partnership is making a difference on the ground in Afghanistan. This change has been made possible by listening to and working with affected communities.

"The most unique thing about this partnership is its emphasis on localisation," says Simon Wankuru, Head of Programme, ActionAid Afghanistan, World Vision’s partner.

By combining community-led approaches and integrated services, DAWAM is saving lives and improving health, nutrition, clean water, sanitation, and hygiene in Afghanistan’s most remote communities.

The DAWAM partnership, funded by the UK's Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and led by World Vision, brings together Action Against Hunger, ActionAid, BBC Media Action, and Afghan partners Nai Qala, AWEC, and AADA to create real change.

Our partners shared their insight into how collaboration, local leadership, and integrated programmes are driving meaningful change.
