The children of Afghanistan are facing a humanitarian crisis caused by decades of conflict, food insecurity, displacement, drought driven by climate change, and COVID-19. They face starvation, malnutrition, water shortages, water-borne infectious diseases, and hunger. They are vulnerable, displaced, and at risk of violence and harm.
World Vision is calling for the commitment of donor governments to fulfil the target $4.4 billion in humanitarian aid to meet these immense and growing needs. Asuntha Charles, National Director of World Vision Afghanistan submitted our official statement at the UNOCHA Afghanistan Pledging Conference 20221, March 31, 2022.
