We are a group of young researchers in Thailand who conducted a study to better understand how climate change and disasters affect children in our communities. Through this research, we hope to contribute to the raising of awareness on the impacts of climate change and disasters in our communities. In recent years, our country has experienced severe heat waves due to climate change. This interrupts our daily activities, including our schooling and our families’ livelihood, and has also caused us children and adults alike to experience many health problems.

In an era defined by the twin imperatives of environmental protection and economic resilience, one of the pertinent yet less explored questions is: Can we harness the power that is already around us? In East Asia, where both rural traditions and rapid modernisation coexist, the answer to this question is not only yes – it’s a solution waiting to get the needed acceleration.

Building Community Resilience through Climate-Smart Agriculture

A report summarizing World Vision's efforts to listen to and include children's perspectives in organisational decision-making processes from local to national and international levels.

This report presents the voices of 69 children—33 girls and 36 boys—aged 14 to 17 from 10 countries, sharing their experiences and perspectives on migration. Through consultations, they discussed key themes, including the drivers of migration, its impact on children, identity documentation, challenges in civil registration, and recommendations for strengthening civil registration and vital statistics (CRVS) systems. The participating countries were Bangladesh, Cambodia, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam.

In 2023, World Vision launched ENOUGH to end child hunger. In one year, it impacted 223M+ children through global advocacy and policy change.

This Child-Led Study on the Lived Experiences and Perspectives of Children in East Asia is the result of the dedication and hard work of children aged 12-18 years old who are currently engaged with World Vision East Asia through the Young Minds CAMP - a regional leadership development academy.
