The escalating Cambodia–Thailand border conflict has triggered a major displacement crisis, with 644,589 Cambodian people displaced as of 25 December 2025, including more than 204,000 children and 336,000 women. Nearly 350,000 people are living in over 200 government-established displacement sites, while others are staying with host communities. Ongoing hostilities along the 800-kilometre border have resulted in civilian casualties and repeated displacement, severely disrupting access to food, shelter, WASH services, health care, protection, and education. The closure of 1,311 schools has left over 322,000 students without access to learning.
World Vision International in Cambodia is delivering a multi-sector humanitarian response across Banteay Meanchey, Preah Vihear, Siem Reap, Battambang, and Oddar Meanchey, reaching 84,432 displaced people between 11 and 25 December 2025. The response focuses on education, child protection and psychosocial support, food assistance, shelter and non-food items, health and nutrition, and WASH, in close coordination with government authorities and humanitarian partners. World Vision has declared a Category II emergency and is urgently appealing for USD 1.5 million to sustain life-saving assistance and protect displaced children and families as the crisis continues.
