Past history and present hardships mean more and more Afghan girls married before they turn 12.

Drought and a global food crisis are exacerbating a toxic mix of history and traditions. The result is an increase in the already alarming rates of child brides in Afghanistan. Meet a family who has just sold their 11-year-old daughter into marriage. She is the third daughter to be sold to pay bills and buy food in a nation wracked by war and displacement.
