It takes the Pacific community to end violence against children

Wednesday, May 30, 2018

All children want the same things. They want to feel loved and cared for, to be happy and healthy, to be respected and to pursue their passions. Children want to have fun, play, explore and learn, they want to contribute to society and dream of a bigger and brighter future.

But in Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu, seven out of ten children experience physical or sexual violence. This is around 20% higher than the global average. Violence robs children of their future, their dignity, their human rights and their potential.

World Vision aims to protect 1.2 million children from physical and sexual violence at home in these four countries by 2021.

We believe that a world without violence against children is possible.
