INTERNAL AUDITOR
World Vision Zambia, a child-focused Christian Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) seeks to recruit a qualified candidate who is motivated and result oriented to fill the following position;
1. INTERNAL AUDITOR - (Location: 01 Lusaka)
PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The primary purpose of the position is to perform audits as assigned. The auditor reviews and conducts audit of projects and programs to ensure the promotion of good stewardship of resources consistent with the purposes for which the funds were given.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
· Executing and completing audit fieldwork according to established schedule, recommending internal control improvements that may include operational and financial enhancements or efficiencies.
· Prepare timely, well written, quality draft audit reports in accordance with WVI audit, risk and evaluation set standards.
· Carry out special reviews and investigations were deemed necessary and approved by the Internal Audit Manager/Regional Audit Manager/Senior Internal Auditor. This may include participation in international audits.
· Comply with Continuing Professional Education (CPE) by attending online courses or professional seminars and trainings. The incumbent should maintain a minimum of 80 units/2 yrs (with 24 in US govt. accounting/auditing).
· Provide input to development of the annual internal audit plan, all with emphasis on a risk-based approach designed to assist the organization reach its objectives.
EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
- Fully qualified ACCA or CIMA or equivalent international recognized audit professional qualification.
- Must be a member of Zambia Institute of Certified Accountants (ZICA) and/or an internationally recognized institute is desirable.
- Minimum 2 years internal audit and/or external audit experience in a recognized firm e.g. the big external audit firms.
- Computer literate - must possess high level of computer literacy in Word, Excel Access and a recognized accounting package.
- Skill in effective verbal and written communication.
- Must be able to exercise high levels of integrity, honesty, diligence and due care when carrying out duties and responsibilities.
- Ability to stand behind tough decisions.
- Good skill in planning and in maintaining composure under pressure while meeting multiple deadlines.
- Christian commitment and maturity or respect for Christian ethos in the workplace is a must.
