Boosting entrepreneur social responsibility towards environmental protection
In cooperation with local authorities and Energy Conservation and Cleaner Production Centre of Hai Phong City (EEC), World Vision honored 31 entrepreneurs who contributed the best innovations to the Saving Energy and Cleaner Production contest on 7 April, 2016.
Some of the innovations are considered highly applicable, such as Hong Ha Company’s management capacity building, Cat Hai Company’s new methods of fish sauce production, Anpha Company’s lighting system renovation.
Pham Van Phuong, director of Hai Phong Department of Foreign Affairs, said, “If applied, all these innovations will help small and medium enterprises save about four million kW/h of electricity and reduce four tons of carbon dioxide annually, which is equivalent to approximately eight billion dong (US $400,000).
The contest and award ceremony are part of World Vision’s efforts in building public-private partnership in disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation through the Hai Phong city Resilient to Climate Change and Disaster Risks (HRCD) project.
To boost entrepreneur social responsibility towards environmental protection and climate change adaptation, World Vision will continue to build capacity of private companies’ managers in Hai Phong city through its training sessions.
