JUBILEE STRATEGY 2025 - 2030

FULFILLING OUR COMMITMENT TO THE MOST VULNERABLE CHILDREN

The past five years (2021–2025) have been both challenging and transformative as World Vision Tanzania implemented its strategy to improve the lives of children through innovative and sustainable interventions. As a Christian relief, development and advocacy organisation dedicated to working with children, throughout this period we strengthened collaboration with families, communities and partners at local, national and global levels, alongside a wide range of stakeholders.

Marking 44 years of service in Tanzania, this journey has enabled children to play an active role within their families and communities, transforming their lives with renewed hope and opportunity. As we transition into the 2026–2030 Jubilee Strategy, we build on these achievements with a renewed commitment to deepen impact and create lasting change for every child.

World Vision Tanzania

Tanzania has experienced steady economic growth over the past decade; however, rapid population growth continues to leave many families and children living in poverty. Children face persistent challenges, including violence, malnutrition, limited access to quality healthcare and education, and the impacts of climate‑related shocks. The country also continues to respond to complex humanitarian pressures, including disease outbreaks, natural disasters, and a refugee population of more than 250,000 people, primarily hosted in Kigoma Region.

Since 1981, World Vision Tanzania (WVT) has grown into one of the country’s largest humanitarian and development organisations, currently operating in 44 districts across 16 of Tanzania’s 31 regions. Guided by its Christian values, WVT works in partnership with communities, government, and other stakeholders to improve child well‑being, with a particular focus on the most vulnerable children.

As WVT transitions from the 2021–2025 strategy into the Jubilee Strategy 2025–2030, the organisation is building on strong momentum. In FY 2025 alone, WVT reached 3.09 million children, representing over 90 per cent of the Jubilee Strategy’s total target of 3.4 million children. This progress was delivered through a total investment of USD 48.9 million, demonstrating strong value for money and effective programming at scale.

Under the Jubilee Strategy 2025–2030, WVT commits to reaching 3.4 million children through integrated programmes across five core sectors: Livelihoods, Health and Nutrition, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Child Protection, and Education. Cross‑cutting priorities include faith and development, climate action, gender equality, disability inclusion, and advocacy, ensuring programmes are inclusive, resilient, and sustainable.

The Jubilee Strategy is anchored in four strategic pathways: mindset transformation, social and behaviour change, economic empowerment, and systems strengthening. Together, these pathways aim to strengthen household resilience, shift harmful social norms, enhance service delivery, and support sustainable, child‑centred development outcomes across Tanzania.

MTOTO KWANZA FUND

Mtoto Kwanza Fund is World Vision Tanzania’s flagship local resource mobilisation initiative, established to harness the power of Tanzanians to invest directly in the lives and futures of the country’s most vulnerable children.

Mtoto Kwanza meaning “Child First” reflects a national call to place children at the centre of development efforts.

The Fund provides a platform for individuals, corporates, faith communities, and institutions to contribute to sustainable, child‑focused programmes across Tanzania. Through innovative giving approaches such as birthday pledges, one‑off donations, and regular contributions, Mtoto Kwanza enables Tanzanians to play an active role in transforming children’s lives and strengthening communities.

Mtoto Kwanza supports World Vision Tanzania’s broader mission of working with children, families, and communities to overcome poverty and injustice. Contributions to the Fund help advance integrated interventions that promote child well‑being, resilience, and long‑term development outcomes, particularly for the most vulnerable girls and boys.

Fully rooted in the Tanzanian context, Mtoto Kwanza strengthens local ownership, accountability, and sustainability, ensuring that solutions are driven by communities themselves. By prioritising locally funded impact, the Fund complements World Vision Tanzania’s national strategies and reinforces the belief that lasting change for children begins at home.
