Indiscriminate attacks continue in northern Syria

Saturday, April 24, 2021

Saturday, 24 April 2021 – Last night, a car bomb was reported in Al-Bab city, northern Syria, which resulted in one civilian injured at least. World Vision works through partners in Al-Bab providing awareness-raising sessions on COVID-19, as well as distributing hygiene kits to vulnerable communities. These sudden indiscriminate attacks are putting lives of innocent civilians and children at risk. Ten years into the conflict, Syrian children have one simple ask; peace and an end to the war.

“Since the beginning of this year[1], at least 28 civilians –of whom 22 children- were killed and more than 23 civilians –of whom six children- were injured. It is the time for us to collectively push for a lasting political solution and ensure lives are spared,” says Alexandra Matei, Syria Response Advocacy and Communications Director at World Vision International.
