World Vision Zambia Signs MoU with Village Steps Foundation to Support Children’s Education and Dignity
For Immediate Release
Lusaka, Zambia – Tuesday, February 3, 2026 - World Vision Zambia and the Village Steps Foundation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing the dignity and educational access of children in rural Zambia. The ceremony, held at the World Vision Zambia National Office, marks the launch of the “Shoes for Smiles – Walk This Way” campaign, an initiative set to provide over 10,000 pairs of shoes to vulnerable children.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, World Vision Zambia National Director Marc Nosbach said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to improving learning outcomes for children, especially in underserved communities in Sioma, Chipili, Lundazi, and Kasama districts.

“This partnership goes beyond a formal agreement. It is a commitment to the dignity and future of the Zambian child,” he said.
The MoU focuses on:
Promoting school attendance, dignity, and child safety
Mobilizing corporate partners to support the initiative
Prioritizing vulnerable children in World Vision supported areas
Joint branding on campaign materials and events
“A pair of shoes is an equity tool that helps a child walk into school with confidence and dignity,” Mr. Nosbach said.
And Village Steps Foundation Country Director, Mr Emmanuel Kunda stated that World Vision Zambia and VillageSteps Foundation partnership is a shared commitment to the wellbeing, dignity, and future of vulnerable children through the Shoes for Smiles – Walk This Way Campaign.

“This campaign goes beyond the donation of shoes. It is about restoring dignity, enabling children to walk confidently to school, and removing simple but significant barriers to education. For many children, a pair of shoes is the difference between attending school consistently and staying behind,” said Mr. Kunda.
He further acknowledged corporating partners for supporting the cause.
“We are grateful to ZAMSHU and Zambeef for demonstrating corporate responsibility that directly touches lives; ZANACO for standing with us in advancing child-focused development; and Radio Christian Voice, whose platform continues to amplify messages of hope, compassion, and action, ensuring that stories of impact reach communities across the country,” he said. “As we move forward, we remain committed to walking this journey together, step by step, so that every child can walk with dignity, confidence, and hope for a better future.”
