The Mamanieva Project
The Mamanieva Project
In 2012, World Vision launched research to examine the role of grandmothers in improving infant and young child feeding practices. This work was conducted in partnership with Emory University, the Grandmother Project, and the Sierra Leone Ministry of Health in Bonthe District. The aim of the Mamanieva project was to better understand the influence of grandmothers on maternal and child nutrition in Sierra Leone and to engage them more effectively as agents of positive change through a grandmother-inclusive approach.
