World Vision International in Cambodia: Updated Country Strategy (2023–2027)

World Vision International in Cambodia has updated its Country Strategy for 2023–2027, following a mid-term review that reaffirmed its commitment to improving the well-being of the most vulnerable children across the country. Grounded in past achievements and shaped through extensive stakeholder consultation and contextual analysis, the strategy presents a comprehensive and integrated approach to child well-being.

The strategy’s holistic focus encompasses health and nutrition; social accountability; child protection and participation; inclusive education; climate change adaptation; water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH); disaster risk reduction and emergency response; sustainable livelihoods and enterprise development; and gender equality, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI).

Key enhancements in the updated strategy include a greater emphasis on policy influence and strategic engagement with national ministries, development partners, and civil society networks; the expansion of partnerships with local organisations—including community-based groups, NGOs, disability organisations, and private sector actors; and strengthened systems for sustainable programming, particularly through government budget allocations to scale up best practices and innovations.

The strategy also extends World Vision’s geographic reach to serve more vulnerable children, while responsibly phasing out from areas where long-term interventions have achieved sustainable impact. With a goal to reach five million girls and boys—especially the most vulnerable—by 2027, World Vision is committed to remaining agile, efficient, and a trusted development partner amid a challenging funding landscape.

This strategy serves as both a guiding framework and a call to collective action—aimed at achieving sustainable impact and renewed hope for Cambodia’s future generations.
