WORLD VISION ADVANCING CAMBODIA’S PROGRESS TOWARD UNIVERSAL WATER, SANITATION AND HYGIENE ACCESS

World Vision International in Cambodia’s Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) programme is a nationwide initiative supporting the Government’s efforts to achieve universal access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene. Since 2011, the programme has delivered services across multiple provinces to improve water supply, quality, and sanitation practices, contributing to tangible progress in public health and well-being. These efforts have enabled 92% of the most vulnerable children in programme areas to access clean drinking water and basic hygiene and sanitation services, while 72% of households now use basic sanitation services.

Through an integrated and systems-strengthening approach, the programme invests in sustainable water infrastructure, strengthens governance and financing, enhances water security and climate resilience, and promotes sanitation and hygiene behaviour change. Working in partnership with government, private sector, and civil society actors, World Vision ensures long-term service delivery and accountability while expanding access to underserved communities. With continued donor support, the programme is scaling innovative solutions and expanding into new regions to deliver sustainable, inclusive WASH services that improve the lives of Cambodia’s most vulnerable populations.
