Basic water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services in healthcare facilities play an important role preventing infections, improving the quality of healthcare, and saving lives. WASH services also are essential for safe and resilient responses to disease outbreaks such as the COVID-19 pandemic and Ebola epidemic.

Over the last four years alone, World Vision has provided 1,368 healthcare facilities with an improved water source, more than 1,000 healthcare facilities with sex-separated sanitation facilities, and 1,769 healthcare facilities with handwashing facilities.
