Children in Cambodia are facing a range of child protection issues including
high prevalence of violence, unnecessary separation from families, neglect and exploitation, and research shows that violence occurs in many settings, including at home, schools and in residential care institutions.

The health cost of violence against children in 2013 alone was estimated to be US$168 million, 1.10% of Cambodia’s gross domestic product, and has long term consequences on economic growth and development.
