Planning for tomorrow while struggling to survive today

Monday, June 15, 2020

Fadi, 15, knows as well as anyone how fast life can change. An airstrike in his neighbourhood in Syria took his home, his father and his arm.

Today, he lives with his family in a camp for displaced families. Every day is a struggle for survival. He struggles regularly as he is not able to help as much as he would like provide for the needs of his family. He dreams of having a prosthetic limb but must first think about more basic things, like milk, tea, sugar and flour.

His story is painful but not unique. He is one of 25.9 million refugees globally--the highest level ever recorded.
