Celebrating Local Impact: World Vision Zambia hosts Appreciation Event

World Vision Zambia recently hosted a 'Thank You' event to express its deep appreciation for the support received from local partners in its pursuit of the organization's mission and goals.

The event, which was held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Lusaka, on September 21, 2023 brought together representatives from various sectors, including CFAO Motors Zambia, Zanaco Bank PLC, ABSA Bank, Davis and Shirtliff, Ajay Industries, Eco Bank, Madison General Insurance, Ingalitas, Anglo American Exploration, among others.

At the event, World Vision Zambia awarded Five institutions namely; CFAO Motors, Absa Bank, Davis and Shirtliff, Zanaco Bank, Anglo American Exploration and Ingalitas, for their valuable contribution and commitment to supporting the organisation's mission.

The 'Thank You' event provided an opportunity for World Vision Zambia to acknowledge the vital role played by its partners in achieving significant milestones since 2020.

Pastor Benjamin Moyowambuya, a World Vision Zambia Board of Directors representative, expressed gratitude and admiration for the collaborative efforts that have brought about positive change in communities across the country.

"Since 2020, with your support, we have recorded many milestones," stated Mr. Moyowambuya. "For example, we have undertaken remarkable projects to improve the well-being of our children, expectant mothers, and young girls. The stories of transformation, resilience, and hope that have emerged from our collaborations are heartwarming. Whether it's providing access to clean water, ensuring children have access to quality education, or improving healthcare services, our collective efforts have touched the lives of countless individuals and families."

And World Vision Zambia's Integrated Programmes Director, Wezi Kaira, also addressed the gathering, commending the partners for their approachability and willingness to engage in meaningful dialogue.

Your approachable nature and willingness to listen each time we knock at your doors, coupled with your deep understanding of our aspirations, have fostered strong relationships that together we are celebrating today.

During the event, Mr. Kaira highlighted several key focus areas for World Vision Zambia's local fundraising efforts, outlining the organization's strategic vision for the future:

• Enhanced Resource Mobilization: World Vision Zambia aims to strengthen its resource mobilization efforts through the Strong Girls Strong Zambia campaign. This involves forging more strategic partnerships and collaborations with like-minded organizations. Recognizing that no single entity can tackle poverty or child marriage alone, World Vision Zambia seeks to amplify its impact by working together with partners.
• Support for Girls' Education: The organization is committed to continuing its support for girls' education. This includes providing educational requirements, bicycles to help girls cover long distances to school, constructing additional boarding and ablution facilities, and expanding classroom blocks to accommodate more learners. Moreover, empowering vulnerable families with goats is a part of this initiative.
• Expanding Existing Programs: World Vision Zambia plans to enhance its existing programs and initiatives by building upon their successes and extending their reach. The goal is to ensure that the organization's services are accessible to more individuals and communities, thereby making a broader and more lasting impact.
• Corporate Partnerships: The organization also aims to foster partnerships in other areas of sponsorship within its programming. These partnerships align with partner corporate social responsibility objectives and contribute to the overall well-being of communities.
