Sudan - August 2018 Situation Report

Some of the situation report highlights:

  • An estimated 5.5 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance in Sudan, of these, 3.1 million are in the Darfur region.
  • This rainy season, outbreak of diseases such as Acute Watery Diarrhoea (AWD) and agencies are preparing to respond. World Vision is actively engaged in the WASH sector cluster, providing technical support. 
  • World Vision in partnership with UNICEF Sudan and the Ministy of Education has embarked on a community-based school enrolment campaign aimed at registering school-aged children and out of school children to access basic education. 
  • World Vision is responding to the basic needs of 27,000 refugees from South Sudan and the Central African Republic
