Attacks on children in Syria must stop

Friday, August 19, 2016

“The picture of five-year-old Omran Daqneesh covered in dust and blood is absolutely heartbreaking. His country has been at war for all the years of his young life.

This picture is a window into the suffering of children in Syria. There are countless other children who are injured, or worse, in Syria who aren’t being photographed for the world to see. We need a peaceful resolution to this crisis so children like Omran can live normal, happy lives free from fear of the next attack.

World Vision strongly supports the UN’s call for an immediate weekly 48-hour humanitarian pause to ensure safe, unimpeded and immediate humanitarian access – both for aid to get into Aleppo and for civilians to leave voluntarily,” says World Vision’s Syria Response Director, Wynn Flaten.
