Vegetable sales deliver steady income for Aisirimau village

Every week a truck from the Dili supermarket chain DiliMart bumps its way up into the hills of Aileu, two hours away from the capital. One of its stops is the village of Aisirimau where it collects fresh vegetables grown by the locals.

WVTL organised the link as part of the Livelihood Improvement Through Farmer Enterprise (LIFE) project. Selling vegetables provides Aisirimau with a steady income which is managed by Farmers' Group leader Cerilio Mausabu and secretary Olivia de Araujo.

The photos display a typical weekly transaction.
