Children Celebrate Vietnam Teachers’ Day in Thanh Hoa

Primary students showed their talents at a festival held in November at a northern mountainous district in Thanh Hoa province, as their presents to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Vietnam Teacher’s Day.
Entitled “Beauty of Childhood”, the festival created a playground for students of Binh Luong Primary School in Nhu Xuan district to sing, dance, participate in fashion shows and folk games, draw, present as a host and respond to questions related to World Vision’s child well being work, laws on child care and protection of Vietnam, and children’s participation.
“This is the first time I have worked as a host in front of a lot of people,” said ten-year-old Le Thi Bich Phuong, who is a sponsored of World Vision. “I am really happy. I’m looking forward to have more opportunities like this so I can learn more from other friends.”
“I hope more meaningful events like the festival will be organised at our school. Therefore, all of my schoolmates can participate in, show their talents, their knowledge and learn from each other,” said eight-year-old Nguyen Hoang Anh.
Their teachers were surprised with what they did in the event.
“At first, I didn’t think my students could have been able to host such programmes from the beginning till the end. The most interesting was the youngest, who is the second grader, received the highest prize,” said Le Thi Lien, the principal. “I hope such activities will give children more chances to show their abilities and participation. Today, our students made the day for us - their own teachers. They really showed the beauty of their hearts.”
