Children are also protected from common diseases like diarrhea with the installment of household toilets and tube-wells or community based arsenic treatment plants in some areas.

World Vision recognizes the right to education and believes that all children have a right to compulsory, free, inclusive, and quality primary education in the communities where they live. WVB reaffirms the right of a child to education by promoting a child-friendly learning environment, child rights, quality teaching; early childhood care and development, and capacity-building – technical and management. For quality education, the organization puts emphasis on cognitive development of students, upgrading skills of schoool mamangement committees, and providing non-formal education to dropped out children.

WVB provides financial support to construct new schools or renovate schools along with providing other forms of educational assistance e.g. furniture, teaching aids, assistance to library etc. Besides, poor and vulnerable children are also provided with various forms of educational assistance. WVB is encouraging parents to value education for their children, helping them to see the benefits of finishing school, especially for girls.

WVB helps communities initiate community based cooperatives, forming various development commiittees to help families connect more with their world in a positive way while helping to generate income. WVB has strengthened child forums and involved communities in school management advocating for children to enjoy positive relationships with their peers, family, and community members. Through activities such as life skills training in schools, World Vision also encourages children’s leadership, hope and vision for the future. WVB also works to ensure that communities and children have information about their rights, policies, laws related to them so that children can grow in an environment that recognizes their freedom.

Towards ensuring that children are cared for, protected, and participating, World Vision raises parents awareness on improved child rearing practices, improved farming and livestock keeping practices and supports extra-curricular activities in schools. Community skills on rescue and relief are also promoted alongside understanding on disasters. Farmers are trained on commercial farming, animal husbandry and post harvest technology and vocational skills in handicrafts, embroidery, food processing, driving etc. are also provided to disadvantaged people so that families have more income to care for children.
