World Vision JWG along with Al-Kamandjati Association and in partnership with the Ministry of Women Affairs and Women’s Affairs Technical Committee cordially congratulate the Palestinian people on the occasion of International Women’s Day. And on this occasion we launch the newest video about women’s rights, “In the name of women”, and dedicate it to women everywhere.

About the Artwork “In the name of women”
The idea of the song originated from a youth initiative which formed part of the Gender-Based Violence Project, implemented by World Vision for three years (2013-2015), in partnership with the Ministry of Women Affairs, the Ministry of Education, PYALARA organization, Al-Kamandjati Association and in collaboration with the local councils and the youth clubs affiliated with the villages of Deir Abu Mish’al and Kharbatha Bani Harith.
Al-Kamandjati Association has been involved in the project since the beginning of its implementation, exhibiting genuine appreciation for authentic music. Al-Kamandjati believes that music is an intimate and integral part of our soul, considering it one of the most effective tools to express the deepest feelings in our hearts. After attending the workshops with the youth, Al-Kamandjati was highly engaged in the controversial debates on gender-based violence. This musical work of art has been crafted by the association’s highly skilled team. It includes a diversity of musical transitions, the finest of tunes, mesmerizing melodies and spellbinding voices. Thus, Al-Kamanjati has embraced such captivating work. 
With joint efforts and strong collaboration among the relevant stakeholders, the song turned into a well developed artwork in all aspects including lyrics, melodies and performance. 
Besides fighting gender based violence; the song also highlights the leading and entrepreneurial role of the woman in her society, breaking free from the gender role stereotypes.
