Project goals and objectives
To build the resilience of communities towards climate change and environmental hazards in areas B and C in the West Bank, World Vision International and Ma’an Development Center launched the project “Green Palestine: Promoting a sustainable environment for children, their families and communities in Areas B and C of the West Bank”.
Key actions
The project aims to:
Build the resilience of communities towards climate change and environmental hazards;
Promote the creation of green-environment committees in the targeted 40 communities;
Support the implementation of gender and age sensitive awareness raising campaigns at the community level focusing on the protection of the environment;
Support the implementation of community-based environmental protection innovative initiatives
Raise awareness of children through the implementation of innovative eco-friendly activities;
Strengthen the technical and operational capacities of the partner organization in managing environmental-protection and climate action projects.
A steering committee including the Ministry of Agriculture, the Palestinian Energy and Natural Resources Authority (PENRA) and the Environment Quality Authority (EQA) will support the implementation of the project.
