As of 8 January 2026, the National Committee for Disaster Management (NCDM) reported that approximately 475,387 people had returned home, with 173,776 people remaining in displacement sites, representing a 71.2 per cent decrease from the peak of 649,018 displaced people on 27 December. Returns remain limited and uneven across provinces, with the largest displaced populations in Siem Reap (46,706) and Banteay Meanchey (18,295).
While conditions show early signs of stabilisation, humanitarian needs persist due to ongoing displacement, service disruption, and damage to homes and critical infrastructure, particularly affecting children and other vulnerable groups. Between 11 December 2025 and 9 January 2026, World Vision International in Cambodia reached 125,988 displaced people, including 37,759 children, through multi-sectoral assistance across six sectors in Banteay Meanchey, Preah Vihear, Siem Reap, Battambang, and Oddar Meanchey provinces.
