More than 900,000 people have been reached since World Vision's teams started responding to the hunger crisis in Somalia.
Still, there's more work to do. World Vision continues to be concerned that:
- 6.2 million people are in need of humanitarian and protection assistance
- 4 million people are in need of life-saving food assistance
- 4.5 million people need clean water, sanitation and hygiene support
- More than one million people have been displaced due to drought and conflict
To respond, World Vision aims to provide more people with life-saving and life-changing assistance.
Due to the ongoing drought and conflict, World Vision Somalia is requesting an additional US $14 million to reach people who urgently need emergency assistance to access food, clean water, health care, nutrition, child protection, income and employment, shelter and education.
