Friday, October 20, 2023

World Vision International in Cambodia is recognised and esteemed for its Christian identity and humanitarian efforts by the Royal Government of Cambodia, employees, Christian communities, and partners. We have upheld the same set of core values and Christian identity for over five decades, from 1972 to 2023.

World Vision International in Cambodia's staff demonstrates strength, courage, and persistence in prayer as they work to achieve their vision and mission for every child's life in its fullness. The commitment is evident in their actions, which demonstrates their Christian faith and calling with boldness and humility.

The first week of October is a time for celebrating the Day of Prayer (DOP). It's a time to commemorate staff's efforts, achievements, and overcoming challenges following the theme "Strength and Courage in Christ." We recognise the important role of Faith and Development in nurturing spiritual growth, collaborating with churches, and helping children experience protection, care, and the fullness of life in the community we serve.

Simultaneously, Andrew Morley, the President & Chief Executive Officer of World Vision International reminded us that “As the World Vision Partnership, we are Christian (our Christian identity). We are committed to our Christ-centred mission to serve in the midst of difficulties and tragedies both worldwide and within. As we face these challenges we need to pray for God’s strength and courage to persevere and remain hopeful.”

Day of Prayer is a remarkable event in World Vision International in Cambodia; staff gather to celebrate and appreciate the achievement in each fiscal year. It is also an opportunity to appreciate colleagues, friends, and family despite many challenges.

Mr. Janes Imanuel Ginting, World Vision International in Cambodia’s country director, said, “We can continue staying hopeful and optimistic despite the challenges and problems we are facing. We still take the best of what we can to make the most impactful programme for the most vulnerable children and families we are serving in Cambodia.”
