World Vision Ghana's Krachi-Nkwanta Cluster received visit from WV Germany and Knorr-Bremse Global Care
From the18th - 20th April 2023, the Krachi-Nkwanta cluster hosted a joint monitoring visit by Jutta Berg, Regional Head of Philanthropy for World Vision Germany and Tobias Fleckenstein from Knorr-Bremse Global Care.
The main purpose of the monitoring visit was to monitor the Private Non-Private (PNS) projects supported by Knorr-Bremse and Merck Global Care thus, the WASH in Communities and Institutions Against Schistosomiasis project in the Nkwanta South Area Programme (AP), and also to assess WASH, health and educational needs in the communities.
Before the Cluster visit, World Vision Germany's Head of Philanthropy, Jutta, monitored WASH groups in the Monkra and Matamallam communities. The groups included the Water Sanitation Management Team (WSMT) and the SESAM WASH Up! Club.
As part of the visit, Knorr-Bremse Global Care celebrated Martha, who happens to be an ambassador for WASH and health in the Kabiti community in the Nkwanta South Municipality. Martha is a Knorr-Bremse Global Care beneficiary and represents millions of Knorr-Bremse Global Care beneficiaries around the world.
The monitoring team also visited the Krachi East Integrated Community Water Sanitation and Hygiene Project which was implemented in 2014 with funding from Knorr-Bremse. The team interacted with community members, school children and teachers on the sustainability of the WASH facilities provided nine years ago. It is worth mentioning that, all the projects’ interventions were functional and continue to provide services to communities and schools.
At the end of the monitoring visit, the monitoring team appreciated the impact of the projects on the well-being of children and their families. WASH, health and education needs were also identified for further engagement.
