DEVELOPMENT FACILITATOR - HIV/AIDS & HEALTH - CHOMA
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To contribute to the achievement of transformation development in the HIV/AIDS prevention and mitigation through collaboration with district stakeholders and community based structures for the attainment of child well-being outcomes.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure that Communities are empowered with knowledge to prevent the spread of HIV and AIDS.
• Ensure that communities are empowered with skills to care for OVC.
• Establish HIV and AIDS prevention, care and support interventions in Churches.
• Ensure that there are Effective, efficient and sustainable HIV and AIDS interventions in place.
• Produce quality reports produced as scheduled.
• Support and conduct Immunization campaigns.
• Support and conduct Malaria control and prevention campaigns.
• Community Health Workers and Mothers trained on prevention and management of maternal and child malnutrition.
• Malnourished under five children and pregnant and lactating mothers rehabilitated.
• Community leaders sensitized on government Health care, Nutrition and Water & Sanitation policies.
• Quality reports produced as scheduled.
EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE
• Diploma in Medical Science or Social Work or Degree in Development Studies or any Social Science will be an added advantage.
• Certification in Psychosocial Counseling.
• At least 2 years of experience in a related field.
• Experience in working with donor funded projects will be an advantage.
OTHER COMPETENCIES & ATTRIBUTES
• Psychosocial Counseling skills including child counseling.
• Good proposal and report writing skills.
• Knowledge of Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) methodologies.
• Computer skills in Ms Office and use of internet.
• Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
• Able to work with minimum supervision.
• Able to ride a motorbike
