DEVELOPMENT FACILITATOR - HIV/AIDS & HEALTH - CHOMA

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To contribute to the achievement of transformation development in the HIV/AIDS prevention and mitigation through collaboration with district stakeholders and community based structures for the attainment of child well-being outcomes.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure that Communities are empowered with knowledge to prevent the spread of HIV and AIDS.

Ensure that communities are empowered with skills to care for OVC. 

Establish HIV and AIDS prevention, care and support interventions in Churches.

Ensure that there are Effective, efficient and sustainable HIV and AIDS interventions in place. 

Produce quality reports produced as scheduled.

Support and conduct Immunization campaigns. 

Support and conduct Malaria control and prevention campaigns.

Community Health Workers and Mothers trained on prevention and management of maternal and child malnutrition.         

Malnourished under five children and pregnant and lactating mothers rehabilitated.          

Community leaders sensitized on government Health care, Nutrition and Water & Sanitation policies. 

Quality reports produced as scheduled.

 

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE

Diploma in Medical Science or Social Work or Degree in Development Studies or any Social Science will be an added advantage.

Certification in Psychosocial Counseling.

  At least 2 years of experience in a related field. 

  Experience in working with donor funded projects will be an advantage.

 

OTHER COMPETENCIES & ATTRIBUTES

Psychosocial Counseling skills including child counseling.

Good proposal and report writing skills.

Knowledge of Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) methodologies. 

Computer skills in Ms Office and use of internet. 

Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.

Able to work with minimum supervision.

Able to ride a motorbike
