Lorroki Girl Child Education Project
The project seeks to improve access to quality education and protection of 8,480 girls from the nomadic area of Lorroki Area Programme, Samburu central sub-county by 2019.

PROJECT OUTCOMES
- Outcome 1: Increased access for girls’ to upper primary education from 2,124 to 3,024 and improved literacy rates from 19.22 % to 25% by 2019
- Outcome 2: Enhanced literacy levels, life skills and competencies for rescued girls in Lorroki ADP by 2019
KEY ACTIVITIES
- Construction, equipping of 5 rescue centers
- Sensitization forums for parents, community members and school board of management to ensure their support for girl’s education and mentorship
- Capacity building of women circumcisers through provision of IGAs
- Support celebration of International days like 16 days of Activism, Zero Tolerance to FGM, and Women’s International day through provision of information, education and communication materials and broadcasting related messages through local radio stations
- Facilitate rescue and mentorship forums and programmes for girls
- Facilitate regular awareness program for parents and community members on girls' education, Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and early marriage
