This closure report is a summary of the interventions taken by World Vision Bangladesh during its 32 years of operations in Hathazari, Chattogram. Beginning in 1989, WVB’s first initiative was to initiate a sponsorship programme through the Zaforabad Community Development project for 200 children. This was followed by WASH initiatives, literacy programmes, skills development, the creation of livelihood opportunities, and gender equality campaigns. WVB carried out its operations in partnership with Village Development Committees, Child Forums, Community Based Organizations, other NGOs, and government agencies. After a careful assessment that the initiatives begun by WVB can be effectively and sustainably carried forward by the citizens of Hathazari, World Vision wrapped up its operations in September 2021.
