Behaviour Change: Evidence Summary for Latrine Construction and Use

The safe construction and proper hygienic use of sanitation facilities can prevent human contact with faeces and consequently the spread of disease. Yet, nearly half the world’s population lacks safely managed sanitation services. Increasing access to sanitation infrastructure, combined with effective behaviour-change programming, are key to successfully increase proper sanitation. This brief summarises behaviour change approaches for sanitation programming.
