World Vision Ghana empowers children across the country to lead change and contribute to transformation in their communities through advocacy and training. Children become able to participate in community and national development processes and lead change at the community level.

One such empowered child is a 12-year-old princess who is leading the way in advocating for policy interventions to transform children's rights. During a recent session of National Children's Parliament in Tamale, Princess presented a powerful speech on the importance of protecting children's rights, inspiring the audience to take action and fight for justice. Her speech was widely applauded, and she is now an inspiration to children around the world.

Princess built her courage, confidence, and resilience to speak and advocate for children's rights by participating in World Vision Ghana's activities. She was reluctant at first, but soon embraced the kids' club and enrolled. This helped her learn to read, speak out in public, build her self-esteem, and enabled her to inspire people to take action. She also learned about advocacy campaign strategies and public speaking.

Princess' nomination to participate in the 5th session of the National Children's Parliament provided her with an opportunity to speak out and contribute to the national development discourse on children's rights and policies. Her experience of participating in this activity also inspired six of her colleagues to enroll in the kids' club.

"My experience of participating in the 5th session of the National Child Parliament was transformative. I built my confidence by believing in myself. I am grateful for the support that World Vision Ghana has given me," she said.

Princess has become a national icon for her inspirational speech and is celebrated in the Agotime District of the Volta Region where she is from.
