The people of Kenyasi No. 3 have bestowed a rare honour on Dr Tinah Mukunda, National Director of World Vision Ghana, by installing her as the Development Queen of the community. She was crowned under the stool name Nana Akua Asantewaa I.

This recognition follows World Vision Ghana’s commitment to transforming  lives through the provision of safe, potable water to the people of Kenyasi No. 3.

For years, the community struggled with access to clean water and quality sanitation and hygiene services, but through the organisation’s intervention, families now enjoy a reliable supply at their closer to home

At a brief but colourful coronation ceremony organised by the chiefs and people of the community, Nana Kwasi Bour, supported by Nana Sunkwa, the queen mother, and their elders, introduced Dr Mukunda as the new Development Queen (Nkosou Nkosuahemaa).

This title symbolises her leadership in driving progress and her organisation’s role in partnering with the community to transform its future.

During the ceremony, the chief praised World Vision Ghana not only for providing safe drinking water but also for demonstrating love in action. Aside from oxygen, water is an essential commodity without which life is meaningless,” he said, thanking the organisation’s leadership for ensuring that safe water flows at the doorsteps of his people.

Speaking after her installation, community leaders expressed gratitude for World Vision Ghana’s dedication to sustainable development. They noted that the provision of safe water has not only improved health outcomes but also freed women and children from long treks to unsafe water sources, allowing them to focus on education and livelihoods.
