In many rural communities across Zambia, mothers walk long distances hoping their children grow well-nourished and healthy. Growth Monitoring Points built by World Vision Zambia now stand closer to home, giving health workers a place to track a child's weight, height and overall development from the earliest months of life.

For expectant mothers, these points offer regular antenatal checks and guidance on nutrition during pregnancy. For children under five, growth monitoring flags early signs of malnutrition before they become severe; early detection saves lives.

Each visit strengthens the bond between community health volunteers and families, building trust and knowledge lasting well beyond a single check-up.

Watch how these small structures make a lasting difference for women, children and families across our Area Development Programmes.
