The West Nile refugee response continues to attract high profile visitors from within the World Vision partnership as a well as media agencies.

World Vision Germany CEO Christoph Waffenschmidt visited the response which is home to over one million refugees from South Sudan, displaced from conflict between rival factions.

While at the response, Christoph visited the Child Friendly Space at Imvepi refugee settlement where he interacted with refugee children. Over 50,000 children have been reached with psycho-social support in the 42 Child Friendly Spaces that World Vision runs. He also took time to chat with a child-headed family. Children constitute 61% of refugees in the settlements.

Christoph further took part in a food distribution activity at Bidibidi refugee settlement. Over 400,000 people in Arua, Yumbe and Moyo refugee settlements have been reached with over 6,000 metric tonnes of assorted food commodities consisting of salt, Corn Soy Blend (CSB), cereals, pulses and vegetable oil.

Uganda continues to receive new arrivals mainly from South Sudan and DRC though the daily average arrival rate of south Sudanese has considerably gone down.
