“The Need and Urgency of Improving Community Social Services” Workshop to be held in Yerevan

“The Need and Urgency of Improving Community Social Services” Workshop is to be held in Yerevan to start the collaboration with consolidated communities of Armenia with an aim of establishing community social services in these communities. The event will bring together 60 community leaders and ten Marzpetaran representatives to discuss the current reforms in the field of Community Social Services at local/ community level and introduction of community social worker institute in particular. The workshop will touch upon the gaps in current legislation and cooperation among community social service providers. The workshop is held as part of the “Community Level Access to Social Services” (CLASS) Program in Armenia.

Speakers of the workshop are:

Davit Lokyan - RA Minister of Territorial Administration and Development,  

Arayik Petrosyan - RA First Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, 

Deborah Grieser - USAID Armenia Mission Director,

Zhirayr Edilyan - World Vision Armenia Country Director. 

“Community Level Access to Social Services” (CLASS) is a three-year project, funded by USAID and implemented by World Vision Armenia and Child Development Foundation. The project supports the establishment of a community-based social worker’s position within the structure of local governments.
