#NoMatterWhat.

On this #WorldHumanitarianDay, let us celebrate the zealous and passionate humanitarian workers in East Asia and all around the world. Their dedication, compassion and never-give-up spirit enable life-saving protection and assistance to timely reach people and children in need, no matter the circumstances.

and Hongkham

It Starts With Me - Laos

14 years serving communities in Laos

Humanitarian workers' devotion to communities, such as Hongkham's, is pivotal in sustaining our service and fulfilling our promise to vulnerable children and families in Laos.

World Vision celebrates not only those in professional roles but also the unsung heroes - volunteers.

Meet our tireless changemakers

World Vision humanitarians in action across East Asia.

70% of people impacted by natural disasters live in the Asia-Pacific region as their countries are vulnerable to climate-related hazards such as floods, storms/cyclones, droughts, and landslides. Against the backdrop of natural disasters, conflict and political instability continues in Myanmar where approximately 14.4 million people required humanitarian assistance in 2022. World Vision humanitarians are the driving force of multi-sectoral programming to support children and their families with the tools and resources enabling them to be prepared to mitigate disaster risks and ensure the long-term recovery and rehabilitation of their lives and livelihoods.

In 2022, 506,936 people in Cambodia, Myanmar, Lao PDR, Viet Nam, and Mongolia were supported through immediate survival assistance and recovered local market. Cash/Voucher assistance has been incorporated into our Humanitarian and Emergency Response and longer-term development programming.

We have been responding to the needs of children across East Asia for 50 years.
