Invest in Girls
From infancy into teenage years and adulthood, supporting girls and women benefits not just their own families but their entire communities and beyond.
World Vision East Asia
Asia and the Pacific are home to an estimated 155.2 million people living in extreme poverty. The struggles of impoverished families to meet their fundamental needs and ensure their survival are intensified by the effects of climate change, natural calamities, conflict, and increasing living expenses.
World Vision has been present in East Asia for more than seven decades, since our founding in 1950. Our offices are located in Cambodia, China, Lao PDR, Mongolia, Myanmar, Thailand, and Viet Nam, where we implement multi-sector programs based on the needs and priorities of the local communities.
Over 2,200 employees back our initiatives, with over 99% being residents.
We are focusing more on helping vulnerable girls and boys in East Asia because of the increasing difficulties. We are helping communities become stronger against climate change. We are also helping children affected by migration and displacement, and working with partners to change policies and systems.

Our Areas of Focus
Education
Through education interventions focused on early-grade literacy and early childhood development, we want all children to be educated for life, in a safe and nurturing environment, to lead productive and fulfilling lives.
Health & Nutrition
We focus on the health of both children and mothers, as the two are inextricably linked. We work with families to improve maternal and child health, promote good hygiene and nutrition for children, and strengthen health systems to ensure their access to good health care.
Child Protection
We teach communities about child rights, galvanising families to keep children safe. And we speak out for children in the global halls of power, pressing for decisions that shield and empower them.
Livelihoods
We implement a unique, integrated model of livelihood development as guided by evidence-based core project models to improve and sustain the well-being of children — especially the most vulnerable.
Disaster Management
We work with children, families and communities to restore and protect the environment, catalysing community-led and children-led solutions to progressively build healthier environments. This is essential to secure safety and livelihoods for the vulnerable.
Faith & Development
We seek meaningful partnerships with faith-based actors to ensure that progress made in community development has greater reach and is sustainable, as these leaders embody a long-term commitment to their communities.
