Middle East & Eastern Europe Cookbook Promotes Campaign to End Child Hunger

16 October 2025 – World Vision Middle East and Eastern Europe has launched its ENOUGH Campaign Cookbook to mark World Food Day, shining a light on the unique power of sharing food as a means of connection and peacebuilding.
Entitled Nourishing Peace, the cookbook features a rich collection of more than 30 recipes and stories from across eleven countries, celebrating cultural heritage and the shared belief that every child, family, and community deserves enough nutritious food to thrive.
Developed under World Vision’s ENOUGH campaign, the cookbook brings together staff, communities, faith leaders, partners, and celebrity chefs from the region to showcase local dishes and traditions, while raising awareness of the ongoing fight against child hunger and food insecurity. The campaign underscores that the world has enough resources — what is lacking is political will, funding, and sustained attention to ensure that no child goes hungry.
“This cookbook is more than just a collection of recipes – it is a testament to the resilience, creativity, and compassion of the communities we serve,” said Eleanor Monbiot, World Vision’s Regional Leader for the Middle East and Eastern Europe. “Through every story and every meal, we are reminded that food has the power to connect people and heal divisions.”
The online preview edition of the cookbook is being launched free of charge on World Food Day, inviting people around the world to discover recipes, reflections, and impact stories that highlight World Vision Middle East and Eastern Europe’s work in promoting healthy nutrition and access to food for vulnerable children, their families, and communities. The preview also includes a heartfelt message and two delightful recipes from celebrity Armenian chef Shaghig Der-Vartanian, who has joined World Vision in advocating for children’s right to adequate and nutritious food.
“Sharing a meal with the vulnerable and marginalised strengthens our faith and deepens our love for one another. Around the table, we discover that food not only feeds the body, but also heals hearts and builds peace,” added Monbiot.
