As part of activities marking International Women’s Day (IWD) 2026, World Vision Ghana, through its Vision Ladies group, paid a compassionate visit to Pantang Psychiatric Hospital to support female patients with essential items and messages of hope.

The visit formed part of World Vision Ghana’s commitment to promoting dignity, inclusion, and holistic wellbeing for vulnerable populations, particularly women and girls.

During the outreach, the team donated a range of essential items, including toiletries, sanitary pads, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and canned drinks, aimed at improving personal hygiene, comfort, and overall wellbeing.

The engagement went beyond material support, creating a meaningful space for connection, encouragement, and affirmation. Through conversations, reflections, and shared moments, the team reinforced the importance of compassion, care, and human dignity in mental health recovery.

The outreach was supported by members of World Vision Ghana’s senior leadership, including Dr Tinah Mukunda, National Director, whose presence underscored the organisation’s commitment to demonstrating Christ‑centred love through practical action. Leadership engagement also highlighted World Vision Ghana’s broader advocacy for inclusive healthcare and mental wellbeing.

Speaking during the visit, World Vision Ghana reaffirmed that mental health care is an essential component of community wellbeing and that vulnerable populations, including persons living with mental health conditions, must be supported with empathy, respect, and sustained care.

The visit further emphasised the role of faith, compassion, and adherence to treatment in supporting recovery and improving quality of life for patients. It also reflected World Vision Ghana’s ongoing efforts to strengthen partnerships within the health sector and contribute to improved care outcomes for underserved communities.

World Vision Ghana expressed its appreciation to the Administration and Leadership of Pantang Psychiatric Hospital for their collaboration and support in making the outreach a success.

As the organisation continues to mark International Women’s Day under the theme “Empowered Women, Thriving Communities,” the Pantang Psychiatric Hospital outreach stands as a reminder that inclusion, kindness, and collective responsibility remain central to building healthier and more compassionate societies.
