Getting in the game – Meet 6 girls excelling in sports
The Women in Sports Foundation, founded by tennis great Billie Jean King, reports that girls and women who play sports have higher levels of confidence and self-esteem, and experience higher states of psychological well-being than girls and women who do not play sports.

Building the capacity of children to read and understand
In Senegal, significant investments in the past have given rise to mass enrolment in primary schools, but the quality of education has not delivered the expected results, particularly in child literacy. To drive up quality standards in education, World Vision Senegal is supporting the State through the ‘Unlock Literacy’ core project model to ‘significantly increase the number of children who can read at the age of 11’.
